2017 Teaser Tuesday logo

Teaser Tuesday 2017 logoWelcome to Teaser Tuesday, the series where I share snippets from new and past releases and works-in-progress, and occasionally bribe author buddies into doing the same.

Did you see the new cover for Wayward Heart that I revealed on Friday? Isn’t it lovely? Gorgeous colours and I like the hopeful feel it has, with the model lifting her chin as she stares into her future.

I also like how it fits in with The Country Girl’s cover. These aren’t related books but with The Country Girl coming out in December and the smaller paperback of Wayward Heart out the month before, it’s nice to have them matching.

Speaking of The Country Girl, only a few months to release now. I’m so excited I bet the weeks will skip by. It’s available for pre-order in all the bookstores, in print and ebook. Pre-orders are hugely important to authors because they help create buzz and get more books into stores, and into more readers’ hands.

For you – and let’s face it, you’re the most important part of this equation – it means you no waiting for your book. You can have it landing on your reading device or in your letterbox on the day. You’ll be able to swan around with a smug smile, cuddling it. Or spend the rest of the day on the couch laughing and crying and falling in love with Patrick, Tash, Thom, Ceci, Basil, Coco and all the gang, while everyone else is battling the Christmas shopping crowds.

Multiple wins!

So if you plan to purchase The Country Girl on release, please consider pre-ordering in either print or ebook. It’d be much appreciated.

Now that public service message is done, let’s have a leeeeeetle peek at The Country Girl.

Tash is with her silver fox grandpa, Basil…

When Pa remained silent, she lifted her head. ‘What?’

‘You should have a boyfriend.’

The Country Girl by Cathryn HeinAnd Tash would like one, but the buggers had a bad habit of falling for Ceci. Besides, she had enough on her plate.

‘I should have a lot of things.’ She smiled, appreciating her pa’s concern, and showing she was okay, which she was. Boyfriend or not, life was pretty damn good. ‘I’m fine, Pa.’

‘Young lass like you can’t live on scones alone. Hearts need feeding too.’ His eyes turned shiny. ‘Believe me, being lonely isn’t any fun.’

Tash slid off her stool and came to circle her arms around him. ‘I miss her too.’

‘She was a wonderful woman, your nan.’ Pa rubbed her shoulder and kissed the top of her head. ‘You should have what we had.’

‘I hope I get it one day.’

He gave her a squeeze. ‘And how do you propose to do that if you don’t have a fella?’

‘I’ll find one, eventually.’ The kettle clicked off. Tash stood on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. ‘Just not this year.’

*sigh* I bloody LOVE this book. It’s funny and heartbreaking and emotional and hopeful and so many things, and I cannot wait for it to hit shelves.
