Teaser TuesdayIt’s Teaser Tuesday time again, the tantalising series where I share snippets from my novels, old, new and in progress, and occasionally let author buddies take over.

I have news! Actually, I have lots of news but some of it will have to wait a little longer before I can reveal, but here’s a couple of pieces that I can share. Firstly, Wayward Heart’s on sale date has been brought forward to December 12th, just in time for Christmas. Rah!

Secondly, and this is juicy, the publisher Harlequin is offering a limited time, pre-order special: Wayward Heart for only $7-99. Bargain! But as I said, this special is for a limited time only, so pre-order now so you don’t miss out.

And now for a lovely taste of Wayward Heart.

Wayward Heart by Cathryn HeinThe hammering stopped. She dropped her hand and held her breath, waiting for the sound of a car door, for the rumble of an engine, anything to signal he was leaving, but it was hard to isolate specific sounds against the whistle of the wind and groans of the timber. Breathing hard, she snatched up the television remote and poked the Off button but it was still difficult to make out what was nature and what could be Mike.

Wayward Heart Cover Reveal

Yes, my lovelies, we can finally reveal all the juicy details about my next release WAYWARD HEART, including its stunner of a cover, blurb and pre-order links.

Read on…

Releasing January 1st 2017

Wayward Heart by Cathryn Hein

The sequel to Rocking Horse Hill, Wayward Heart is a compelling rural romance, with a healthy sprinkling of suspense and family drama.

Jasmine Thomas should feel safe in her cosy cottage at Admella Beach after finally putting an end to an ill-advised romance. But her perfect sanctuary is shattered with the arrival of hand-delivered threatening notes. Someone has discovered her secret.

When the notes escalate to vandalism, Jasmine’s anxiety rises. But in such a small town, telling the police would mean the whole town finding out.

Digby Wallace-Jones is stumbling through the motions of life, wrapped in a fog of grief since his fiancée Felicity died. Withdrawn from his family, Digby doesn’t care about anything beyond his loss. But in a chance meeting with Jasmine, his sister’s best friend who he’s known forever, even he can see the tension she carries. Worried and feeling protective, he continues to drop by, but it’s more than that. Jasmine soothes him; and, unlike the rest of his family, he can talk to her about his pain without fear of judgement. But as much as he likes Jasmine, Digby’s enduring love for Felicity means he has nothing left to give and he pushes Jasmine away.

Jasmine knew they were supposed to stay friends ‘with excellent benefits’ but she can’t help her wayward heart from falling for this tortured, kind and sexy man. How can she ever loosen the grip Felicity’s memory has on Digby’s soul and remind him he still has a life ahead of him?

As the cover and blurb suggests, Digby and Jasmine’s story is a deeply passionate one. There’s something quite wonderful about a friends to lovers story and I had a joyous time writing this one. I hope you’ll have just as much fun reading it.

Teaser Tuesday!

Teaser TuesdayIt’s Teaser Tuesday time again, the tantalising series where I share snippets from my novels, old, new and in progress, and occasionally let author buddies take over.

This week l learned that Wayward Heart has gone to the typesetter which means next stop will be proofreading. So close to the end of the production phase! The cover is still being finalised so it might be a little while yet before I can show it off. I can’t wait. Harlequin Australia create wonderful covers and I have every faith they’ll produce a beauty for Wayward Heart too.

Finishing Wayward Heart’s edits reminded me how much I love this book and adore Jasmine and Digby’s story. It’s so lovely. Sigh. Mind you, as the author I would say that but I sincerely believe you’ll love their story too, and be barracking for these big-hearted people to find their happy ever after.

One of the best things about writing Wayward Heart was that I got to play again with much-loved characters. Granny B, who you might recall from Rocking Horse Hill, is one of my all-time favourites and it was huge fun to include her in the story. She’s so naughty!

Here’s a taste of her. Only a little though. We don’t want to peak too early and I plan to do a lot more teasing in the lead up to release!

Even wearing a fuchsia plastic Alice band on her head, topped with two sparkly multicoloured unicorns on springs and a square of pink card on which ‘Daffy Duck’ was inscribed in glittery gold letters, Granny B still managed to act as regal as a queen.

Not that her manner had much effect on Em’s bridal shower guests. Not after well over three hours of multiple champagne toasts, canapés, chatter, and silly party games. The mood was warm and relaxed, any last remaining barriers broken down by a hard-fought game of Celebrity Head. A game Granny B seemed hell-bent on winning.

New Title Reveal!

Newsletter subscribers already know this piece of news, but now it’s time to shout it to the world.

The title of my next full length rural romance is…

*drum roll*

Cathryn revealing WAYWARD HEART title

The exact release date is still a secret but expect to see Wayward Heart on shelves early next year. I adore this story and can’t wait to tell you more about it. All will be revealed as soon as I get the nod from my publisher but what I can say is that it tells the story of Jasmine and Digby, two characters first introduced in Rocking Horse Hill, and it’s a very emotional journey to happiness for both.

For a sneak-peek at Wayward Heart, check out this Teaser Tuesday. This snippet is from the draft manuscript (back when it had the working title Admella Beach). There’s no guarantee these paragraphs will appear in the final release but it’s good for a taste.
